Prof. UĞUR CANPOLAT

Dr. Canpolat graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2007. In 2012, he became a Cardiology specialist after his Residency Program in the Department of Cardiology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. After completing his Public Service Obligation at Kastamonu State Hospital and Türkiye High Speciality Training and Research Hospital, he started to work as a faculty member in the Department of Cardiology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2018 and Professor in 2024. He studied as an observer and research fellow at the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St Davids' Medical Center (Austin, Texas, US) between January and June 2019. He is still working as a staff electrophysiologist in Department of Cardiology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (Ankara, Türkiye).

Dr. Canpolat received the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye Health Sciences Incentive Award and Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı Medical Incentive Award in 2019 and the Science Academy Young Scientists Award Program Award in 2023.He is a member of the Turkish Society of Cardiology (TSC), the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), and the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA). He was certified as an "Electrophysiology Specialist" by passing the exam held by the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) in 2022. Dr. Canpolat is a national and international educator on left bundle branch pacing (stimulation of the cardiac conduction system with a pacemaker), and has made significant efforts to establish this practice in many hospitals in our country. Dr Canpolat has several scientific publications. He is an Editor for Archives of the Turkish Socety of Cardiology; Associate Editor for Cardiology (Karger) and Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine and on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Europace, and Medicine journals. He is a Publons rewarded reviewer for several scientific journals. Besides knowing a good level of English, Dr. Canpolat is married and has a son.

Scientific interests include diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, conduction system pacing, cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators, and cardiovascular imaging in rhythmology.
