Biography

Her academic life started with crystallography-based studies. In her postdoctoral studies, she acquired a new vision to study nanostructured materials and nanoscopic arrangements. Besides solid phases; started to conduct R&D studies by using X-Ray Scattering Methods for nanostructured materials in dense gas, liquid and gel forms. She continued these studies by using SAXS beamlines at ELETTRA-Italy and NSRRC-Taiwan Synchrotron Beam Centers. After being appointed as a professor in 2004, she installed Turkey's first laboratory type SAXS-WAXS experimental system. With the knowledge and experience she gained in these studies, she took part in the establishments of Nanotechnology-Nanomedicine and Polymer Science and Technology at Hacettepe University, Institute of Science and Technology. Based on her 33 years of academic experience, she established a technology-transfer company operating on the controlled production and technological applications of nano-materials related to composite-acoustic science and applications.

She received the 2023 Honorary Award given by the Turkish Physical Society.
