Biography
Dr. Uğur graduated from TED Ankara High School in 1983 and Hacettepe University Medical Faculty in 1989. He did his speciality in medicine at the Department of
Nuclear Medicine of Hacettepe University Medical Faculty. He became
associate professor in 1998 and professor in 2004. He worked in 1992 and 2001 for 2 years in total at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
in New York, USA. He was awarded Turkish Society of Nuclear Medicine Prof. Dr.
Suphi Artunkal Award in 1995, Hacettepe University Research Group Science
Encouragement Award in 1994-1995 and 1995-1996, TÜBİTAK Science Encouragement
Award in 2002 and TÜBA-GEBİP Award in 2003. His professional interests are
nuclear oncology and positron emission tomography (PET).
