Biography
Dr. Onur Çağdaş Artantas is a scholar based in Ankara, Turkiye. He has been affiliated with the Hacettepe University Faculty of Law, Department of Administrative Law since 2013.
His educational background includes an undergraduate degree in law from Ankara University, which he completed in 2012. He then pursued a master's degree in public law at the same institution in 2016. His LL.M. dissertation, which focused on the pricing of public services, was published in 2018.
Dr. Artantas received a doctoral scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and conducted his doctoral studies at Bucerius Law School. His research during this period centered on green electricity subsidies under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael Fehling. He was awarded his Ph.D. with honors (magna cum laude) in 2021. A book derived from this dissertation was published by Springer in 2023.
In 2022-2023, Dr. Artantas was a postdoctoral researcher at Bocconi University Law School, where he collaborated with Prof. Dr. Giuseppe Franco Ferrari on the legal and economic aspects of cross-border electricity trade. This project was funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye (TUBITAK).
Dr. Artantas' research primarily focuses on administrative law and public economic law, particularly in the areas of infrastructure (such as the energy, telecommunications and transportation), sustainability, global trade, project finance, and banking regulation. He is a member of the Society of International Economic Law (SIEL) and the Max Planck Alumni Association (MPAA).
