Abstract

The interaction between wood density and moisture content was investigated for the effectiveness of full-cell preservative treatment within tree of European silver fir (Abies alba Mill.). For this purpose, various moisture content (MC) regimes were designed below and above the fibre saturation point (FSP) by recommended kiln drying schedule (schedule K: 70 degrees C dry bulb, 60 degrees C wet bulb). All the samples were treated with tanalith C of CCA and the penetration was inspected in the main flow directions (O: triplex, L: longitudinal, T: tangential, R: radial).
