Özet

This study investigates 26 public libraries in 16 central districts within the boundaries of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality in respect of five factors according to national and international standards quantitatively. The findings show that public libraries in Ankara are insufficient with respect to quantity, users, staff and collection and far from the standards. Therefore, it is suggested that an urgent planning is necessary for public libraries in Ankara.
