Abstract

Minoxidil (6-piperidin-1-ylpyrimidine-2,4-diamine 3-oxide) is a potassium channel opener and causes hyperpolarization of cell membranes. By this way it causes vasodilatation. In this experimental study, subrachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) model was performed to the rabbits basilar artery and cerebral cortex were examined by histological and oxidative/nitrosative stress parameters.
