Özet

The present study was designed to determine the relationship between perceived social support and loneliness including the effect of demographic factors on a sample of university students. Participants in this study were students of the Hacettepe University (n = 402). Data were collected through a demographic information form, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and UCLA Loneliness Scale. The results of the study show that loneliness scores are low for women than men. At the same time, loneliness scores of students for those who have a high level of participation in recreational activities and for those with higher levels of perceived social support were found to be low.
