Abstract

Background. Morbidity and mortality for critically ill patients with infections remains a global healthcare problem. We aimed to determine whether beta-lactam antibiotic dosing in critically ill patients achieves concentrations associated with maximal activity and whether antibiotic concentrations affect patient outcome.
