Abstract

Phase angle determination of the grid voltage is the most critical parameter for converter application such as power factor correction, reactive power compensation, and harmonic current suppression and so on. In some conditions where grid synchronization cannot be performed, the performance of the converter will be degraded and the power quality of the grid will be impaired. The synchronization technique is expected to produce reliable results in the event of power quality impairments such as harmonic distortion, noise and voltage unbalance and frequency oscillations.
