Marija Stanonik, in her Literary Folklore, a pluridisciplinary approach to a synchretic phenomenon, tries to determine, at the textual level, the differential position of several researchers of literary folklore, starting from the theoretical data of structural linguistics (partly semiotics). On the basis of research on various aspects of literary folklore, she proposes to arrive at a series of personal conclusions, to situate literary folklore'in a coherent system. In explaining the ins and outs of the work devoted to the various aspects of literary folklore in her country, she also wishes to penetrate into the nature of the exchanges between the different folkloric genres. Folkloristic is used to group folklore, such as concrete traditions and customs (clothes, architecture, kitchen etc.) or abstract (festivals, games, dance, beliefs, song, proverbs etc); this perspective adopted by folkloristic makes it possible to classify folklore at a crossroads of disciplines where ethics, literary researches, ethnomusicology, linguistics, etc. intersect. As stated by A. Bernard, M. Stanonik "devotes most of his work to the phenomenology of this branch called" folkloristics ". To present the general scheme of the object of the study of literary folklore, Stanonik relies on the studies of Alan Dundes, she presents the "folkloric event" as an equilateral triangle whose sides are text, texture and context, each of which requires a specific approach. She underlines the importance of a multiple linguistic approach without neglecting the need for the transformation of linguistic data in accordance with the nature of folklore. To dissect the use of linguistics in the field of folklore, she starts from a distinction between literature and literary folklore. Although there is a differentiation between the literary language and the dialect, Stanonik does not fail to emphasize the interference between literature and folklore, which "enrich one another", and "insists, in an always theoretical perspective, on the fundamental consideration of language for itself in folklore. For her, the living relationship of folklore with language is one of the means for its enrichment. In this perspective, it is quite normal that folkloristics should approach linguistics. The linguistic works inspired by Saussure and Chomsky's studies provide data for the understanding of the language of folklore. Within the limits ofthis work, we intend to highlight the ins and outs of the interferences that occur on a textual level between linguistics and folklore as reported by Stanonik in her Literary Folklore. The aim is to see how linguistic elements are used in the context of folklore, including the contributions of the various theorists, to determine the methodological position adopted by a particular researcher working in literary folklore field.
