Abstract

In this study, the style and colour preferences of consumers with different demographic dimensions for classical chairs were studied. For this purpose, a questionnaire was prepared. Some questions took place in the questionnaire to determine demographic dimensions of consumers as sexuality, marital status, age, educational status, profession, montly family income, and preferences concerning twelve different classical chair styles and colours of them. The questionnaire was applied to 400 people that live in Ankara by face-to-face interview method. The questionnaire results have been determined and analyzed statisticallly. When demographic dimensions are not considered, Duncan Phyfe 1, Queen Anne, Renaissance, Colonial and Duncan Phyfe 2 as styles and brown, white and yellow as colours are higly preferred. The styles and color preferences depending on demographic dimensions also show differences.
