Abstract

Background: During cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury, oxidative stress leads to excitotoxicity, blood brain barrier dysfunction and inflammation. This study was designed to evaluate possible protective effects of low dose methotrexate on cerebral transient ischemia reperfusion injury in rat.
