Özet

Field and climate conditions in different regions of Turkey show great variability. In view of this, it is necessary to examine the effect of environmental conditions on ANFO, the most popular and widely used explosive. For this reason, a 3 month long study was conducted in a storage facility which belonged to the state owned explosive factory's ANFO production plant. Temperature, pressure and humidity were measured every day. In the beginning stage of the experiment, chemical analysis and velocity of detonation of samples in 125 mm PVC cartridge were carried out. Evaluation of the results of the study made it possible to detect the effects of environmental factors generated due to regional climate conditions, transportation and storage on ANFO quality.
