Today, we can experience real-life consequences of technological advancements or perceive futuristic ideas and foresights through representations including a certain number of depictions. The best-known one of these representations is science fiction movies under the title of cinema. In such movies including futuristic foresights, there are generally indicators regarding different-scaled applications of technology. However, science fiction movies usually contain indicators regarding city, architectural texture and place as part of future technology. Within the context of this study, the aim is to find out whether or not technological developments redound on furniture that provides relationship between human and identified volume in which they are found and strengthens fiction through science fiction movies. In the movies analyzed in this regard, the differences between the technological developments on the date when the movies are released and the foreseen technology are explained through the Furniture.
Bugün teknolojik gelişmelerin gerçek hayatta karşılığını deneyimleyebilmekte ya da geleceğe yönelik fikir ve öngörüleri birtakım tasvirleri içeren temsiller üzerinden görmekteyiz. Bu temsillerin en bilinenlerinden birisi sinema üst başlığı altında bilim kurgu filmleridir. Genel olarak geleceğe dair öngörülerin yer aldığı bu tür filmlerde teknolojinin farklı ölçeklerdeki uygulamalarına dair göstergeler bulunmaktadır. Fakat, bilim kurgu filmleri çoğunlukla geleceğin teknolojisi bağlamında kent, mimari kabuk ve mekana dair göstergeler içermektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında ise; teknolojik gelişmelerin insan ile onun bulunduğu tanımlı hacim arasında iletişimi sağlayan ve kurguyu güçlendiren mobilyaya yansıyıp yansımadığı bilim kurgu filmleri üzerinden tespit edilecektir. Bu bağlamda incelenecek olan filmlerde, filmin yayınlandığı tarihteki teknolojik gelişmeler ve öngörülen teknoloji arasında ne gibi farklılar olduğu mobilyalar üzerinden açıklanacaktır.
