Özet

The activities of drug metabolizing enzymes demonstrate a large interindividual variability. Environmental factors, age, gender, ethnic difference's, use of other drugs and genetic polymorphisms are among major factors that are responsible for the large variability. Alteration of metabolism rate is related to drug resistance and this may be affected from the aforementioned factors to different degrees. Concomitant use of other drugs may influence the metabolism rate and may cause resistance in drug therapy.
