The purpose of this study was to evaluate responses of a PID based
control system for a biomechanical model of the press handstand in
gymnastics with various kinematic feedbacks. First, the joint torques
were obtained from two dimensional inverse dynamics analysis for
determining the controller parameters and then the performances were
simulated using the same feedback control system. The results of this
study showed that the feedback control system gives consistent responses
for different kinematic information. This PID based feedback control
model can be developed and used for classification of the control
parameters among press handstands performed on different apparatuses
such as rings and parallel bars in gymnastics.
