Abstract

3D printers are widely used in the industry as an innovative manufacturing method. 3D printing also become a common method for compliant mechanism production. This study, it is aimed to increase the effectiveness of 3D printers and to apply this method to compliant mechanisms in future studies. A set of mechanical tests is arranged to produce specimens with higher strengths while increasing the production speed. For this purpose, test specimens are prepared using gyroid infill patterns at different rates. Manufacturing times are recorded for the specimens that have 10%, 20%, 40%, and 60% infill rates. Five resin-filled and five unfilled specimens are prepared and each specimen is subjected to tensile and 3-point bending tests. Results are tabulated and compared for strength, manufacturing time, and cost.
