Son Our knowledge of the vocabulary of the Ottoman tazkira (poet biographies), which are considered the products of the intellectuals of society in terms of their topics, writers and readers, is limited to highly general statements. The aim of this article is to explore the role of Turkish, Arabic and Persian in these texts, which are originally written in Turkish. In the article it is argued that the vocabulary of Arabic and Persian has a determining role in the generic style of the tazkira.
