LEADERSHIP AND POLICY IN SCHOOLS, 2025 (ESCI)
Project Schools in T & uuml;rkiye are specialized public schools established to promote academic excellence, innovation, and holistic student development, aligning with global trends in differentiated and high-performing educational institutions. The aim of this study is to identify the challenges faced by project school principals in school management and their perspectives on solutions to these issues. In this research, a case study design from qualitative research methods was employed. A semi-structured interview form, developed by the researcher, was used for data collection. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with 17 school principals and deputy principals working at various project schools in Ankara/T & uuml;rkiye. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The findings reveal that project school principals mostly struggle with issues related to teacher motivation and task distribution, student absenteeism and parental pressure, limited authority in staff selection, and bureaucratic barriers in communication with educational authorities, and they propose context-specific strategies to enhance collaboration and school functioning.
