Abstract

The Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is one of the frequently seen disorders among elderly. GAD is characterized by worry and distress about lots of issues and activities see these symptoms as uncontrollable in least 6 months. This disorder effects health quality and skill loss in older adults negatively and also leads to quite high health expenditures. In this review article, the epidemiology, the conceptual differences form the anxiety disorders that are seen in the youngsters, risk factors and treatment are examined. Moreover, the measurements of evaluation used in order to assess the anxiety symptoms in later years are presented.
