Abstract

Web technology, as in many other areas, has a great potential for reference management. Indeed, in recent years a number of international reference management systems have been appeared. Kaynakca. info is the first web based application in Turkey designed for the management of references in a collaborative setting. Members of kaynakca. info network are able, besides accessing a large database of references, to create, manage and share their own bibliographies. Users can also contribute to the advancement of science and arts by providing fast feedback about the scholarly works through commenting mechanism of the system. In short, kaynakca. info has added a new dimension in bibliographical studies in Turkey. This article describes this system together with the ideas of how to further bibliographical studies concerning social science research.
