Abstract

A new enzyme electrode for the determination of galactose was developed by immobilizing galactose oxidase in polyvinylferrocenium matrix coated on a Pt electrode surface. The amperometric response of the enzyme electrode was measured at a constant potential of +0.70V vs SCE. The effects of galactose concentration and temperature on the response of the enzyme electrode were investigated. The response time was found to be 30-40 s and the upper limit of the linear working portion was found to be 40.0 mM galactose concentration. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Inc. All rights reserved.
