Özet

Yucel-Oner Case has a great importance to understand the political changes and conflicts which emerged after 1945. Two subjects regarding this case have been mostly examined so far: The claim that Hasan Ali Yucel as the Minister of National Education protected left wing academicians and teachers and the debate on the policy of the Ministry of National Education on the translation of the world classics. Reseachers also analyzed these subjects in the context of political conflict; but there is another and neglected field of dispute regarding this conflict: Turkish literature textbooks and the claim of socialist-communist propaganda in these textbooks. In this article, the claim of socialist-communist propaganda in Turkish literature textbooks which reflects the conflict between left-wing-Kemalists and nationalist-conservatives will be examined and it will be tried to contribute our understanding of the nature of the political conflicts during the period of transition to a multi-party system.
