Özet

This study aims to facilitate communication of deaf and dumb people by means of a data glove. The Turkish Sign Language translator glove is designed as a portable, low-cost and user-friendly system. The glove is equipped with flexible sensors to detect finger movements and a gyroscope to detect hand motion. The data from the sensors is analyzed with a microcontroller and 18 letters of the Turkish alphabet are successfully obtained. The Turkish Sign Language requires the use of both hands, however, this work aims to detect the entire alphabet with a single glove.
