Abstract

The national energy and climate pathways are gaining importance to achieve the global net-zero emissions target. We surveyed the literature on energy and climate pathways for Turkey, with a 1 % share in global emissions with a historical increase of 118 % from 1990 to 2015. We used the meta-analysis method to compare the national and inter-regional energy and climate pathways. The finding reveals that the CO2 emissions are higher in national energy and climate pathways for 2050. The national energy and climate pathways are medium-sighted, with only three scenarios for having a time horizon of 2050. We recommend further research by considering the small study effect and the interoperability of the meta-analysis tools.
