This study was carried out to determine the effect of computer assisted instruction program on the success and retention of the 9th grade class technical high school students on the teaching perspective, 3D universe and fundamental laws of technical drawing lesson.The experimental study was made based on one test group and one control group model. Each group consists of 40 students. The studies were carried out in two 9th class students of national public technical high school, department of Metal Işleri in Adana. In test group, technical drawing lectures were given in twice a week for four hours a day by the researcher. Totally 40 hours lecture were given. In control group, computer assisted technical drawing lectures were also given by the researcher.A multiple choice test, which had been developed and tested for its confidence and validity, was used as a measurement tool. The test questions were acquired from the course books, approved by the Ministry of Education. T-test of the SPSS package program was used to analyze the data obtained from initial and final experimental tests.The results have shown that the computer assisted instruction program was obviously more successful than that of the traditional education program in terms of academic success of the students.
