Abstract

Since density may have a direct influence on permeability, and because density is a factor under genetic control, this study examines the interactions of site, longitudinal fluid uptake and basic wood density. In addition, its variability both within trees and between sites is examined. The vertical variation (from 1 to 3m height) in density and permeability was plotted at defined points.
