In this study, the teachers' opinions about measurement and evaluation methods which they use in their classrooms were tried to be described. The survey developed for this purpose was administred to 242 classroom teachers and branch teachers teaching 1-6. grades in primary schools in centeral province of Ankara. The teachers preferred traditional measurement methods at which they considered themselves more adaquate to determine students' achivement. The most important problem which the teachers meet at using measurement instruments is crowded classrooms and insufficient course duration. A great part of teachers' opinion that has showed parallelism that the primary school programme. Taking this finding and other findings of the study into consideration, it is understood that teachers need education on using and preparing measurement methods.
