Özet
Primary care research is facing greater challenges in the form of complicated health requirements, policy changes at a quick pace, and changing delivery models for services. Scoping reviews, mapping exercises, and gap-mapping are some evidence synthesis processes that provide useful approaches to evaluate, structure, and prioritise the knowledge in the dynamic environment. Scoping reviews assist in investigating the scope of the evidence in new or multidisciplinary fields. Mapping exercises form the basis of thematic study organisation and often form the basis for more focused reviews. Gap-mapping, through its visual presentation of evidence clusters and gaps, informs strategic research planning and funding. The chapter discusses the distinctive roles, processual methods, and pragmatic uses of these methods in primary care. With constant development and growth in primary care, these strategies provide essential tools for structuring evidence-informed decision-making.
