Background: Hematogenous candidiasis is associated with a substantial mortality and morbidity in critically ill patients. Candidemia is the best marker for hematogenous infection; therefore, most studies have examined the outcome of candidemia. However, few have focused on the predictors of outcome in cancer patients with candidemia.
