The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships between co-activation index (CI) around the ankle joint & ground reaction forces (GRF) and CI & muscle forces, and also the differences that depend on limb dominancy. A total of 11 participants performed single-legged (unilateral) and double-legged(bilateral) landing. CI value for 300 ms before / 1k ms after landing, GRF data, plantar and dorsiflexion muscle force were calculated. There was no significant relationship between GRF and CI. In the pre-landing phase for both unilateral and bilateral landing, there was a positive significant correlation between dorsal muscle force and CI value. It was found that the higher values of CI occur in bilateral landing. This study shed light on the relationships between neuromuscular coordination and both GRF – muscle force. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that neuromuscular coordination has different behavior in unilateral and bilateral landing.
