Abstract

BackgroundStudying patients with rare Mendelian diabetes has uncovered molecular mechanisms regulating -cell pathophysiology. Previous studies have shown that Class IIa histone deacetylases (HDAC4, 5, 7, and 9) modulate mammalian pancreatic endocrine cell function and glucose homeostasis.
