Özet

“Fire and Smoke” workshops performed at Middle East Technical University by Ödül Işıtman and İlhan Marasalı on May 11, 2002, September 20, 2005 and June 4-6, 2009 are first applications of pit-firing technique in Ankara. In this paper, technical stages required for conducting pit-firing are explained with experience gathered from these workshops. Different steps to be followed are shown using visual material as well as dwelling on the solutions for problems experienced, conclusions derived and some suggestions.
