Abstract

This study examines the position of Beytepe Höyük within the trade networks of Central Anatolia during the Early Bronze Age by evaluating surface-collected ceramic assemblages, land transportation routes, production relations, and the broader environmental framework of the 4.2 ka climatic event. Within the conceptual framework of the so-called “Anatolian Trade Network,” the research explores Beytepe Höyük’s interactions with the surrounding region and its potential role as a nodal center within these interregional connections. The ceramic typologies recovered from the site, and correlated with those from neighboring settlements, were assessed in conjunction with spatial and cartographic analyses to better understand Beytepe’s position within the short-distance exchange networks of the Early Bronze Age.
