Özet

The education system of a country has a crucial effect on creating a qualified work force. Teachers who are the most important part of the education system play an important role in the development of society. In this context, in order for teacher candidates to perform their profession more effectively and successfully, they need to be raised as well-equipped individuals in terms of professional subject knowledge and pedagogical formation; with positive attitudes towards their profession. This study investigated the attitudes towards the teaching profession of the Turkish and Azerbaijani students studying at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) in terms of gender, grade and preference order variables. "Personal Information Form" and "Attitude towards the Teaching Profession Scale" were applied to the teacher candidates. As a result of the findings obtained from the study, it was concluded that the variables of gender, grade and preference order had a significant effect on the attitudes of the teacher candidates towards the teaching profession.
