Abstract

A new species, Ornithogalum nallihanense Yildirimli & A. Dogru Koca, from northwest Turkey is described and illustrated. Diagnostic and morphological characteristics that distinguish the new species from the allied species Ornithogalum comosum L., O. fimbriatum Willd., O. pascheanum Speta and O. broteroi M. Lainz are presented. A description, distribution map, notes on ecology, proposed conservation status, taxonomic comments and an identification key to related Ornithogalum L. species are provided.
