With few exceptions elemental concentrations follow log-normal distribution. The Cl/Na ratio was smaller than the corresponding ratio in seawater, owing to evaporation of Cl from sea salt particles as HCl. The ratio is also inversely related to nss-SO4. Concentrations of elements in the Black Sea atmosphere were found to be intermediate between continental rural sites where local aerosols and long range transported particles affects observed concentrations and a remote marine site where local sources other than the ocean do not exist. -from Authors
