Özet

In the folk songs of a certain society it is possible to find certain social phenomena and facts related to cultural history as reflections of daily life. Turkish folk songs also represent almost all aspects of Turkish folk life. While examining the repertoire of Turkish folk songs, one of the noteworthy characteristics to be noticed is that a group of songs have thematic structures related to mill or miller motifs. This phenomenon, which is present in Anatolia and the Balkans and probably in Central Asia and the whole Turkic world too, reflects cultural history and social reality.
