Objectives. To investigate the antimuscarinic effect of oxybutynin in the rat cletrusor muscle after estrogen pretreatment because, to our knowledge, no study has been done on the interaction of estrogen with antimuscarinic drugs. Estrogen has been shown to affect muscarinic receptors in the cletrusor muscle of animals. In addition, oxybutynin has been shown to block muscarinic receptors in the bladder.
