Özet

In the title compound, 2-(4-chlorophenylhydrazono) 1,3-indandione (C15H9ClN2O2), the indandione and phenylazo groups are connected by a C=N bond of 1.307 (3) Angstrom. The molecule is planar and the bond lengths correspond to those expected for a phenylhydrazone. A strong intramolecular N-H ... O hydrogen bond was found.
