Özet

Drawing in childhood period is an activity in which children reflect themselves freely, expressing their emotions, thoughts and imaginations. The aim of the research is to examine the views, experiences in practice lessons and approaches of pre-service preschool teachers about the drawings of children. The research is a phenomenology study of qualitative research methods. The study group consists of 10 students who are fourth grade students in the preschool teaching program and have successfully completed the "Teaching Practice I" course and continuing on "Teaching Practice II". Semi-structured interviewing technique was applied by conducting face-to-face interviews with the participants. As a result of research, it was determined that pre-service preschool teachers did not have sufficient knowledge about approaches to children's drawings and all of the pre-service teachers think that the current undergraduate program is inadequate. It has been found that pre-service teachers often set drawing activities to get to know the child, to evaluate after the activity and to help children express themselves creatively. Moreover it has been concluded that pre-service preschool teachers mostly use the questioning approach to children's drawings.
