Purpose: The aim of this study was to perform the Turkish version of the Simple Shoulder Test (SST) and to evaluate its reliability and validity. Material and methods: Sixty-five subjects with shoulder disorders participated in this study. Subjects were evaluated for active range of motion of shoulder joint; muscle strength of related muscles and pain. All subjects completed SST and Disabilities of Arm, Shoulder and Hand questionnaire (DASH). Results: The test-retest reliability of the SST was satisfactory (ICC=0.743). The internal consistencies (Cronbach's alpha) were 0.726 for test and 0.754 for retest. In terms of criterion validity, SST showed a good correlation with the DASH (r=0.538). SST significantly correlated with active range of motion (r=0.452), muscle strength (r=0.440) and pain (r=0.436). Conclusion: The Turkish version of the SST provided good reliability and validity in patients with shoulder disorders.
