Abstract
Particularly during the pandemic, with the world coming to a standstill through the lockdown process, the expression of 'we need to slow down a little' become more common. This article examines the Slow Art Movement, which is a part of the Slow Movement that began with the Slow Food Movement in 1986 and is one of its most recent branches. It discusses what this movement, which has not yet fully formed its scope but has begun to be mentioned as a term in current con-texts, is and will be. Therefore, the subject has been approached with a broad perspective, focusing on the relationship between Slow Art and education, the market, and artists. The concepts of scholé, leisure, festina lente, and slow education are listed under the title of education; the role of museums and galleries, capital relations in art and art factories are listed under the title of the art market; creation process, authenticity, etc. are listed under the title of artists and literature review on them and the relationship among them are presented. In conclusion, the study suggests that ethical sustainability should be at the center of Slow Art, as in other areas of the Slow Movement, and emphasizes the importance of process elements to protect the authenticity of their own fields.
