Frequency Diverse Array (FDA) concepts, first introduced in 2006, present a novel approach to electronic beam steering. FDA differs from other conventional arrays in that it applies a small frequency increment to the center frequency for each individual array element creating range, angle, time and frequency offset dependent beam pattern. A conceptual framework is studied for target acquisition and tracking in AFD radar systems.
