Objectives: Following the encouraging results of several registries and trials, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has been recognized as a valid option in patients with severe aortic stenosis deemed at high or prohibitive risk for surgical treatment. Good procedural success and good clinical outcomes have been showed and very limited data exist on TAVI in the setting of a preexisting mitral prosthesis regarding the technique, potential complications, and outcomes.
