Özet

In recent days cuisine culture is an important area of research for folklore, anthropology and related fields. Turkey is known for an abundance and diversity of foodstuff due to its rich flora, fauna and regional differentiation. On the other hand Turkey with its traditions and customs, lifestyle, religious beliefs enriches its cuisine culture. In this article, a small town the name of which is Mengen and specially its cuisine culture is analyzed from this point of view. Ceremonies (religions festival, betrothal, wedding ceremony, The Sunna etc.) beliefs in special days and practical attitudes have formed a unique cuisine culture in Mengen. Therefore the cuisine culture of Mengen consists of indicators from its geographical features, social construction, and religious life. In this article it is aimed to be analyzed the feasts for special days in Mengen and the cuisine culture depending on them.
