Özet

In this study, grammar difficulties experienced by Turkish university students learning French in the process of foreign language teaching/learning and their causes were searched. In determining the difficulties, the written errors that were collected from Gazi University preparatory class students' exam papers and grammar courses in 2002-2004 academic years were used. In the light of the findings, surveys were prepared and applied on the students and lecturers of Hacettepe, Gazi and Ankara University preparatory classes. In consequence, the findings were used. In the light of the findings, it was found that a significant amount of the difficulties stemmed. from the syntactic and morphological differences between Turkish :and French. Moreover, the highest frequency mistake types were examined with examples.
