Abstract

There have been many changes in the undergraduate programs of the Department of Information Management, Hacettepe University, since its foundation 40 years ago. Some of these changes are wide in scope, and some are narrow. The aim of this study is to find answers to the questions such as when, why, and how these "wide in scope" changes in the undergraduate programs have been implemented. The differences between the programs seem to be the by-product of changes in technological developments, professional understanding and the particular characterisitics of the country.
