Özet

Introduction: infections with multi-resistant gram-negative bacteria have recently become a major problem, and colistin is one of the best alternatives for patients who cannot be treated using broad-spectrum antibiotics. However, colistin has many side effects including nephrotoxicity. Colistin can be administered as long or short infusions according to its pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic properties. In the present study, it was aimed to investigate the effect of mode of colistin administration on nephrotoxicity in patients in the intensive care unit.
